Shepherd's Care serves the Hickory Nut Gorge (Western North Carolina), a four county area - parts of Rutherford, Polk, Henderson, and Buncombe Counties by assisting families/individuals with food, shelter, housing, medical, health, scholarships, and short term emergencies.

Dedicated Volunteers
Shepherd's Care is grateful for all its dedicated volunteers. Without our volunteers on a regular basis, we would not be able to provide the many services to our clients. Some of our volunteers have worked for the organization since its inception. Our volunteers are the heart of our organization and we would not be able to continue in this community without their dedication and service.
Our volunteers are friendly and loving folks who work hard each week to make the thrift store and food pantry a success! Shepherd's Care thanks each of you for your hard work and dedication.
Positions are available for volunteers with various levels of experience, interests, skills, knowledge, and time.
Please Note: We welcome students who are in need of a location to complete their community service hours and are invited to work in food pantry and with outreach services.
Our currents needs include:
* Pick up food from Manna Food Bank
* Package bags of groceries
* Help with Thanksgiving and Christmas Baskets
* Help with Angel Tree
* Help with Children's Christmas Party
* Distribute food to clients Wednesday - Saturdays when thrift store is open. (Wed-Fri 10am -4pm) and (Sat 10 am - 1 pm)
* Administration which includes office functions such as answering phones, filing, correspondence, mailings, record keeping, newsletters etc.
* Work in Thrift store which includes being a cashier, helping to price and stock clothing, laundry and pricing items and anything else necessary to run a clothing store.
* Help with various fund raising events throughout the year
* Client Intake; public awareness events
* Pray daily for Shepherd's Care and all the clients
* Help with Food Drives
